Today we will go back to Ayutthaya Era which is the capital of Siam. As we know from the history that Dutch made a business with Siam. In Ayutthaya period, Siam is the important commercial center which trade with many countries. The one of countries is Netherlands or Holland which called Hollanda or Dutch. They started to make business since year 1602 in name of Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie (VOC) which was the largest trading company. VOC interested in tin, buckskin, stingray leather, caesalpinia sappan, rice and other goods. They also import printed fabric from India, silver from Japan. Dutch also interest about ambassador, historical, and Thai lifestyle which can see evidence from record of VOC officers who worked in Thailand. Building in Ban Hollada is east style and got improve to be beautiful. It located at Klong Suanplu, Meung, Ayutthaya. Old building was damaged since 2nd loss of Ayutthaya. Now improve and set as relation history center of Thai-Netherlands. Inside there is exhibition about relation more than 400 years since Ayutthaya until now. It shows equipment which used in that period. At the 1st floor has sell souvenir, coffee shop and stroopwaffle which is national dessert. It open every Wednesday-Sunday at 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. Ticket price is 50 Baht. Before visit should call first for make sure that don’t have any holiday or any exhibitions.
