Also known as the Little India in Bangkok, Phahurat is the largest Sikh community in Bangkok, located right next to the Chinese community of Yaowarat. Named after a daughter of King Rama V, the area is regarded as one of Bangkok’s largest textile market you find everything involved in cloth making, from yarns of silk to costume jewelries to faux fur as well fabrics in various styles from Thai silk to Indian saris. Hidden behind the market is the sparkling gold dome atop a giant structure of Gurdwara, the largest Sikh temple in Thailand.
